Pyranha S6X
In essence the 6x, like most of our new boats, is a logical progression from something we already had...in this case the s6 - the boat believed by many to be last years top selling whitewater play kayak around the world. So let's look at some of the design criteria and features on the s6x and try to explain where our thoughts came from and what the s6x feels like. For such a short boat the s6 carved well and was unusually fast. Many would have been surprised to find that the same effects that were evident in the Mountain Bat have been extended, developed and now enhance the carving potential of their new kayak. The 6x has been taken another stage further and its carving is amazingly crisp, responsive and lightning fast. The double rail system used on the 6x is a series of subtle tweaks on something that was already good. It however still has two main advantages: Two effective edges to bite in to the water and give drive while maintaining a paddler friendly edge that is relatively trip free and easy to roll. It is also able to give excellent release for super easy spins whilst maintaining this crisp carving potential.
