Robson Maui Recreational Touring Kayaks For Sale This kayak is designed for day paddling and is equally at home on shorter trips. The hull shape is modern and efficient and benefits from a drop down skeg in the stern of the kayak. You can see from the image below that the bow is slightly raised allowing you to paddle thro the chop and stay dry. Again looking at the image below you can see keel of the Maui turns up at the bow and stern this is called rocker. When manoeuvring between rocks when the skeg is up the Maui will turn better than a kayak with less rocker. So the best of both worlds, manoeuvrable when the skeg is up and straight tracking when the skeg is down. Being slightly longer than the Robson Waikiki you can expect a better forward speed and increased load capacity. With the expedition spec you get the rear hatch and bulkhead.
