The Eckla Loading Aid is a practical roof rack loading system designed to make solo kayak and canoe loading safer, easier, and less physically demanding. Ideal for paddlers regularly transporting heavier boats or loading onto taller vehicles, the Eckla allows one person to lift and slide a kayak onto roof bars without needing a second pair of hands. It’s a simple but highly effective solution for reducing strain and protecting both your vehicle and your boat during loading.

Built from anodised aluminium with powder-coated steel brackets, the Eckla Loading Aid is engineered for durability, corrosion resistance, and repeated outdoor use. The extendable side arm slides out from your roof rack by approximately 65cm, creating a stable support point to rest one end of the kayak while you lift and position the other. A raised side stop helps prevent the boat from slipping off during loading, giving extra confidence and security when working alone. The support arm is rated to carry approximately 30kg, making it suitable for most kayaks and lighter canoes.

The latest generation design mounts alongside the roof bar rather than on top, allowing the main T-track or bar surface to remain free for your kayak carriers or saddles. This keeps the overall roof setup lower and more aerodynamic while maintaining compatibility with a wide range of systems, including Thule SquareBar, WingBar, ProBar, and most T-slot bars. Installation is straightforward, and once the kayak is loaded, the arm slides neatly back into position for transport.
