As a closed-deck, single-person kayak, it offers excellent weather protection and a feel similar to a hardshell boat while maintaining the portability and convenience of an inflatable. The Swing 1 is designed for various water types, including flat water on lakes, calm coastal stretches, and gently flowing rivers up to grade 2 whitewater. 

A key feature of the Gumotex Swing 1 is its durable construction, which utilises Gumotex renowned Nitrilon material. Nitrilon is highly resistant to abrasion, aging, and UV radiation, as well as being lighter and quicker drying compared to traditional bladder-style constructions. Its rigid reinforcements in the bow and stern, along with an inflatable floor beam, provide impressive rigidity and enhanced tracking, ensuring a more efficient paddling experience. 

Gumotex has introduced several notable upgrades in this latest incarnation of the Swing 1. These include a new deck design inspired by the Rush series, which accommodates neoprene spray skirts for a completely watertight experience. Additional enhancements include waterproof deck zippers, updated hard plastic handles, and a drainage opening at the stern with a stopper. In addition to its performance-oriented design, the Swing 1 prioritises user comfort and convenience. It comes equipped with an adjustable footrest and a comfortable foam-backed seat with a backband. 

Storage options are thoughtfully designed, featuring convenient zipped hatches in both the bow and stern, as well as bungee storage on the deck for easy access to gear. The Swing 1 is incredibly easy to transport and portage, packing down into a compact carry bag that can be easily stowed in a car or taken on public transport.
