The Nova Craft Prospector 17 SP3 is one of the largest toughest open canoes, ideal for all the family and perfect for expeditions. Retaining the renowned performance characteristics of the Prospector design but in a higher carry capacity. The Nova Craft Prospector 17 is capable of carrying large loads on longer trips, overnight camps and multi-day expeditions. It is also a popular choice for those looking for a large family open canoe to carry 4 people or for families want to DIY outfit with 4 individual seats. As standard the Prospector 17 comes with 2 comfortable wooden webbed seats but can easily accommodate these 2 additional seats  to make 4 in total.

Despite it's size and thanks to its roots in the old Chestnut Canoes design it is still fun to paddle with its manoeuvrable slightly rockered hull providing reassurance and stability to its paddlers.

The Prospector 17 SP3 benefits from a symmetrical hull design with a very soft tumble-home, which provides great all round on the water performance.
