The Nova Craft Trapper 12 is a solo open canoe that offers a reassuring level of both primary and secondary stability in a hull design that also delivers good speed and manoeuvrability. It is a great canoe to use for improving your J stroke and with its very narrow beam, can also be used with a double blade kayak paddle like a pack boat. The Trapper 12 has tons of spaces for gear making it ideal for weekend camping trips.
The Trapper 12 weighs in at only 37.9lb (17.2kg) making portages and car topping a breeze. Constructed from Nova Crafts proprietry TuffStuff material - A cutting edge composite made of basalt and Innegra fibres. Basalt fibre is made of melted basalt rock and Innegra is a fibre consisting mostly of polypropylene. When they are woven together into a cloth and infused with high impact vinylester resin, the result is simply amazing! TuffStuff canoes are a great choice for paddlers looking for a lightweight canoe with more than enough strength to handle plenty of thorough use.
